Director, National Institute of Public Administration (INTAN)

Dr. Aminuddin Hassim is the Director of National Institute of Public Administration (INTAN) and has served in several public sector agencies such as the Ministry of Housing and Local Government, Economic Planning Unit as well as Khazanah Nasional Berhad as its Vice President under the Cross Fertilization Programme. Having sat in various appointments, his talent and expertise radiuses from Economic Management (Environment and Natural Resources (Green Issues), Water Management, Public Transportation), Policy Design (Environment, Water Management, Public Transportation), Project Management, Urbanizations to Public-Private Partnership in Education.

Tengku Azian joined PEMANDU in February 2010, and she currently is the Director of Education, NKRA & NKEA and SRI – Human Capital Development. Before joining PEMANDU, she was involved in Investment Banking for 18 years, the last position as Head of Corporate Finance in RHB Investment Bank Berhad. Tengku Azian graduated as a lawyer from the School of Oriental and African Studies and was admitted as Barrister-at-Law of the Honorable Society of Inner Temple.

Andrew Loh

Analyst, PEMANDU

Andrew is an analyst in the performance Management and Delivery Unit (PEMANDU) of the Prime Minister’s Department. He graduated from Swarthmore College, U.S.A, in 2011 with a major in Political Science and minor in Islamic Studies. Andrew’s recent experiences span both learning and teaching: he has taught English in Bosnia, Pengetahuan Moral in Malaysia, and mentored Malaysian students who apply to American universities. Andrew has also coached SMK Damansara Jaya to win two national debate championship.

Chen Fong Tuan

Executive Vice President, Head, Group Talent & Organization Development, Maybank

Fong Tuan has more than 14 years of technical management, internal consulting and HR experience. His past experiences include working in F&N Coca-Cola, OCBC AND BAT. At present, Fong Tuan is the Group Head, Talent & Organizational Development of Maybank Berhad. He is responsible for Human Capital strategy, analytics, bench strength and succession management, acceleration of leadership effectiveness through focused development, talent engagement and retention, manpower planning and organization design Group-wide.

Teh Chi-Chang

Executive Director, REFSA

Chi-Chang holds degrees from the Universities of Warwick and Cambridge, the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) charter and is a CELTA-qualified teacher. He currently serves as the Executive Director of REFSA. REFSA is an independent, not-for-profit research institute providing relevant and reliable information on social, economic and political issues affecting Malaysians. It aims to promote open and constructive discussions that result in effective policies to address those issues. . He joined REFSA because he believes Malaysia will succeed if more of us stop whining about all that is wrong and instead use the time to work productively on making things better.

Chen Chow Yeoh

Education Advocate and Movement Initiator,  Regional Operations Director for South East Asia & India, Groupon and Chief Operating Officer, Groupon Malaysia.

Chen Chow graduated from Cornell University with a Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. He is currently the Chief Operating Officer at Groupon Malaysia. Besides, he is also now the Regional Operations Director for South East Asia & India for Groupon after early involvements at Groupon Taiwan. Previously, he served as the Product Manager at JobStreet and a Management Consultant at Accenture. Chen Chow has numerous experiences as a speaker, especially on youth related issues. Besides countless appearances in local Radio, TV interview, college events and conventions by professional bodies, he is perhaps best known among youngsters for his tireless contributions to the US Applications Workshops since their early years.

Dr. Sharifah Mariam Binti Mohammed Alhabshi
Senior Lecturer and Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and International) of the International Institute on Policy and Management at University of Malaya

Dr. Sharifah Mariam, a very distinguished figure in public policy analysis, is a Ph.D holder of Geo Information and Public Policy from Durham University, United Kingdom. She obtained both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Urban and Regional Environment from the University of Southern California, USA. Dr Sharifah serves on the Advisory Board of the Malaysia Centre for Geospatial Data Infrastructure (MaCGDI). Apart from winning two separate Outstanding Service Awards in 2008 and 2010 respectively, Dr. Sharifah was also a fellow scholar of the University of Cambridge in the Development Studies Programme in 2006. She has consistently provided her expertise at national and international levels in various leadership and advisory capacities, including serving as the Head Coordinator, International Institute of Public Policy & Management (Inpuma) and as a consultant to the ASEAN and ASEAN +3 Secretariats in 2008. Her book, “Case Studies on Government Programs and Policies,” was published by University of Malaya in 2009. Other recent publications include book chapters, “What We Have And Not: E-Government in Malaysia” and "E-Government in Malaysia: Barriers and Progress," published by Cairo University and IGI Global, Pennsylvania, respectively.

Professor James Chin
Professor of Political Science and Head of School at Monash University, Malaysia

Prof. James Chin is one of the most renowned political scientist in Malaysia. He is a proud Ph.D. holder from the Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. Previously, he graduated with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Political Economy from the University of Adelaide, Australia and then a BA Hons in Government & Public Administration from the University of Sydney, Australia. In 2007 to 2008, he served as the Professor of Swinburne University of Technology (Malaysia campus). He was also the Director in the Institute of East Asian Studies. Professor Chin’s works and research revolves around minority rights, elections, democratisation and good governance issues. The countries of his interest are mainly ASEAN countries (especially Malaysia, Brunei and Singapore) and those in the South Pacific Rim (especially Papua New Guinea, Fiji and Solomon Islands). Examples of his journals and books are ‘Nine Ideas to Improve Our Electoral System: Submission to the Parliamentary Select Committee’ (2009) and ‘The Iranun Of Sabah: Language And Culture Of An Endangered Minority In Malaysia’ (2011). Before becoming a Professor in Monash University, he was a financial journalist in Singapore.

Dzameer Dzulkifli

Founder, Teach for Malaysia

Dzameer is an alumnus of the United World College of Southeast Asia, Singapore, and holds a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College London. In 2009, Dzameer commenced working on the idea of Teach For Malaysia. He dedicated his energy towards Teach For Malaysia as it is a proven model that creates a win-win environment for the Ministry of Education, the private sector, passionate young Malaysian leaders and most importantly the students and families the programme will reach.
